Dragica the Witch 3+
Metka Damjan, Aja Kobe and Svetlana Patafta based on motifs from the picture book by Marijana Jelić / Co-producer Theatre Puna kuća, Zagreb / 35 min
Here was once upon a time ... the sea. It has shrunk into a river and next to the river a city has grown. In the city, just like today, people were thinking and doing many interesting things. And what was Dragica doing, that she was accused of being a witch?
Dragica is a great herbalists and healer. She picks herbs and makes teas, syrups, drops and other healing concoctions out of them. Nettle, chamomile, dandelion, mint, lavender, sage, thyme, plantain and elder are among the most common. In the Middle Ages, when our story takes place, people generally did not understand the power of herbs and herbalist were unjustly accused of witchcraft. Now we use herbs on daily basis for healing or as spices without being accused of witchcraft.
