StopTrik Pobalin_ka: International Stop-Motion Competition Program for Children II 9+

Screening for Primary Schools: for Children Ages 9 to 11

80 min

The film program consists of four selections for children, each tailored to a specific age group. A special highlight of the festival is the children’s competition program, which features a selection of the best animated films submitted to the festival’s open call. The young audience then votes to choose the winners in each category. The selections include short animated films created by professional authors using stop-motion techniques. The films were curated by Brina Fekonja, curator of the StopTrik MFF children’s program, together with Jelena Dragutinović, children’s program collaborator.

Each screening is accompanied by short, guided educational discussions. Between the films, the curator engages the children in conversations about the stories, messages, animation techniques, and how to appreciate and evaluate a work of art (film). With the help of voting ballots, the young audience rates the films and selects the winning stop-motion animations.
