Assemblage ⁵⁺

We will give discarded objects new value and function, arranging them into intriguing combinations and using them to create new images. Under the guidance of Andrej Štular, a versatile artist and master of a wide range of visual techniques, participants will explore visual storytelling through found and recycled materials. Andrej Štular has recently published two picture books with Stripburger (Let’s Run, the World Is Crumbling and The Bear), in which drawing is replaced by photographic images of carefully arranged objects that form a comic-strip narrative. The artist will present his collecting and creative methods before helping participants develop and realise their own ideas. Participants are invited to bring a variety of interesting objects – everyday items as well as more unusual finds – and, of course, plenty of imagination.
