Jani Kovačič and Miran Košuta - Giorgio Gaber

Giorgio Gaber is history of Italian pop music. He started rock'n'roll in the famous Milan club Santa Tecla. Then he performed in the 1960s in San Remo and a lot on RAI television. In the 1970s he became a serious and respected performer of full-length theatrical concerts. Almost every year he prepared a new program of songs with which he performed in Italy. Countless interviews and enthusiastic reviews enthroned him for the conscience of Italy. A convinced socialist became a disillusioned intellectual. Despite the somber themes of his appearances in the 1980s, each of his projects was well received at the time. In the 1990s, he performed new songs and the most characteristic songs of the previous years in his program. For Italians is Giorgio Gaber as it for Frech Jacques Brel. He died in 2003, and there were some repercussions for Gaber in Slovenia. The path of one of the best Italian songwriters, whose father has Slovenian roots, is also the history of Italian music.

The performance, entitled Giorgio Gaber(ščik) From pop-songs to theatre songs,  was prepared by Miran Košuta and Jani Kovačič, who also perform it.

What we dare not say and what we overlook in everyday life - these are the songs of Giorgio Gaber.
