Arctic Tall Tales 10+

Jørn Riel / 60 min

Canadian puppet collective La Ruée Vers l’or brings to the stage the legendary Arctic tales by Jørn Riel. The adventures of a handful of fearless hunters from the north-eastern coast of Greenland were adapted into graphic novels by French illustrator Hervé Tanquerelle and writer Gwen de Bonneval, and it is from this graphic adaptation that the production draws its inspiration.

Camaraderie is the binding thread of this eccentric band of adventurers, who set out into the extreme conditions of an isolated, frozen wilderness. Brought to life through tabletop puppetry in the bunraku tradition, the stories and their protagonists become an animated delight, accompanied by live music and sound effects.
