Japanese Autumn

The program has been planned as a comprehensive presentation of traditional and modern puppet theatre in Japan. It is designed as a short "pocket-edition" study program through the fields of Japanese puppet arts. The main purpose of creating the program is the natural urge for exchange, mutual learning, and mutual exploration of new paths. With its extraordinary and rich tradition, as well as its highly increased development during the last 50 years, Japan represents an affluent source of inspiration, which can most definitely convey appropriate values upon the Western civilization once again, especially, when it comes to art.

Therefore, we asked the representative artists from Japan to make a short presentation of Japanese puppetry as an introduction to the whole program of Japanese Autumn.
