Red Riding Hood 3+

The fairy tale of the Red Riding Hood is primarily known from the bourgeois moralistic transformation of the Grimm brothers, the first record of the girl in red encountering wolf dates back to the eleventh century. Yes, Little Red Riding Hood is a folk tale. Even today, new and new versions are emerging that vary in detail and adapt to time. Ours is also new, even though it is full of old ideas: from mother’s stories to basket for the grandmother, from wolf’s big stomach to the metaphor of growing up. We left out few things, for example, the hunter, and we added few of them, for example, the matryoshkas. Red Riding Hood got a name, the wolf got an ice cream, the ears a rabbit, the eyes an owl, and the teeth a grandfather. And growing up? "If you only blindly obey, you will not learn anything and you will never grow up," the grandmother says to her granddaughter. Therefore, Maša goes again into the forest, this time her own path. Of course, her path is full of traps, such as kind wolves with ice creams, but fairy tales are here to teach us to recognize and to avoid these traps, and to grow up without severe scarring. Above all, it is important that we listen to our heart, not our stomach. There is nothing wrong if we make a few mistakes at the beginning. We learn from mistakes, don’t we, kids?
